I saw the Facebook post from Vin Diesel earlier, about what Paul Walker's mother told him when he went to offer them his support.
I wanted to say something, but for a long time, I just stared at the comment box. What do you say to someone who's just lost a part of their heart? Why say anything at all, when there are 291,881 comments to it? He won't see it anyway.
I decided to forget about it, and paged on.

I did leave a comment. I don't know if he'll ever read it in the sea of messages. But it doesn't matter. What matters is that he knows there are people who understand, who are thinking of him, of Mr. Walker, and want him to know that he's not alone in his grief.

In other news, my NaNo is currently plodding along at 12,684. I don't even care that I'm 13,000 behind because damn it, they are *there*, and I am STILL WRITING! -Fist pump- Seriously, that is all I care about this year. As long as I'm writing, that's what matters to me.
That, and I ended up taking a break from Space Pirates with Dragons to pay attention to ShinyAntonioMuse because he was DEMANDING my attention, and he has rewarded me with Changing Tactics, which is an AU where Lauren stayed with the team, while Jayden was sent off to master the sealing symbol and grew up with Antonio. It's turning out to be loads of fun. I have no idea what's going on half the time.

Today's been a pretty dramatic day. In a mostly good way: my region had our first write-in, which was just as much fun as the kick-off party. Everyone was super-friendly and supportive. There was lots of snacks and taking a break every hour for snacking and chatting. I consumed FAR too much sugar and caffeine, to the point that I ended up talking Brother into going to the gym instead of letting him sleep, just so I could burn off some energy working out.
But after all of the fun things, I finally convinced myself to lay down and try to sleep and realized that there's something that happened today that's still bothering me. And I need to get it off my chest.

I've been reading Teen Wolf fics lately.
I'm not entirely sure why or what started it at this point. I think it was a desire for Team As Family Avengers fic that somehow lead me to searching for Pack Mom stories. Namely PackMomStiles, because it's adorable. (With Derek/Stiles obviously, because I know me.) Teen Wolf has lots of cuddly Pack Family stories to make my heart happy.
Still haven't convinced myself to actually *watch* the show, but whatever.

Last night, I was explaining to arytra.livejournal.com about the Power Rangers Super Legends game I bought recently.
So here's a fun fact: Power Rangers Super Legends, which is a game clearly made by people who know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Power Rangers, has such a thing as Power Posing. It powers up your attacks for the next few hits. You press a series of buttons, and they do three poses, and there's a burst of colored smoke behind them and everything.
So yes, it is actually a thing. Assuming you believe the game which, again, not made by anyone who has EVER watched an episode. -Rolls eyes-
Which makes me sad, because the Dino Thunder game was loads of fun and surprisingly helpful on figuring out how the Zords work.

It's not a *terrible* game, but it's pretty much something I play for the button mashing and randomness factor.
Anyway, when I was telling her about this and all the OOCness, it spawned a comment:
Arytra: Maybe Wes stole Eric's morpher. Or... or... oh! Oh! Maybe in this reality, Eric was red and Wes was Quantum!
Akume: ... That would be kind of fascinating, actually.
For some reason, my brain started pondering how that would work this morning while I was in the shower. It's not that I can't see how it could happen - provided I stuck with my headcanon that Alex was descended from both Wes *and* Eric. But I have no plot. It's just a bunch of random scenes in my head.
Seeing as I was planning to attempt to work on Ambiguous Living Spaces today, this train of thought was less than helpful. So I tried to turn my muse's attentions to the scene I left off at last night instead.
Somehow that turned thinking about the Samurai AUs I've seen around (Which are all wonderful! ♥) where Jayden was the one sent away to learn the sealing symbol, and Lauren stayed to lead the team. My ShinyAntonioMuse took that thought and ran it into my Bright Skies universe. Suddenly I have a new bunny of Antonio getting adopted by Rocky and raised by the former Rangers, until one day a few years later, he senses Something Is Wrong with Jayden, and drags his guardians off to find him, and they learn that Jayden's caretaker died. Jayden gets taken in by Antonio's surrogate family as well, and the two boys grow up together, eventually coming to help the Samurai Rangers as a pair.
And *then*, while browsing DeviantArt today, I found this *fabulous* picture, Genderbend Edwin, by viria13. (It made me giggle lots. ^.^) The author's note had this to add:
A friendly artist tip: if you have no a clearest idea what to draw, genderbend some of your otps:33
My first thought was that I can't imagine that genderswapped Jayden and Antonio would be any different than the way I already write them. (I partially blamepunkpinkpower and her adorable All the Boys and All the Girls for this.)

So Rare Pair Fest authors have been revealed. Not that anyone is really surprised, seeing as there were only four authors who wrote for Power Rangers and we all know each other. But it was still loads of fun, and I would absolutely do it again. And I have the BEST STORY, no matter what anyone else thinks.
I wrote In the Aftermath of Glory, which has now given me a very warped headcanon of Andros' life after the fall of KO-35. And now that everyone is allowed to know it's me, it's become a mini-series called Forsaken Guardians (Complete with a Shiny Banner!), and has an extremely short sequel I just posted, called Allegiance. I have thoughts of things I'd like to do if I ever continue it, but I'm not making promises so we'll have to see.

Today marks twenty years of the show that brought us superheroes, rainbow jokes, and awkwardly edited footage. It's made me a better writer, forcing me to think through details and timelines and character development. It's made me a better person, through the friends I've made over the years of fangirling.

So I finished my Rare Pair Fest story on time, and finally gave up on trying to edit/add to it yesterday. I worked on some story info files, and eventually decided to start watching MMPR Season 3! Only twelve more seasons to go!
I made it through all three parts of A Friend in Need. There is seriously more than a page of notes for it; most of my episode notes are like, barely a quarter of a page. c.c;;; I have many thoughts/questions. Mostly I was entertained by things such as Kimberly being adorable and awesome, Tommy and Adam failing at diplomacy, Dex glaring at/subtly threatening everyone, his Woeful Eyes of Woe, and his crush on Aisha. (He glares or gives Woeful Eyes of Woe to everyone else. She asks one question and gets this big, beaming smile.)
On the whole, it's a terrible group of episodes. But Dex's clear ISSUES made me think of Andros and his emo pouts, and I started thinking they'd be adorkable friends. And Kimberly obviously became a diplomat in Bright Skies because the rest of her team FAILS at it. And then I wondered how this episode might have gone if she was there.
I'm sure you can all see where this is going ...
Turns out, Masked Rider isn't on Netflix. (arytra.livejournal.com and I raged about this for awhile, considering all the things that are.) It *is*, however, on YouTube. Kinda. There's one person whose been posting vids, but YouTube keeps taking them down again. Bastards. But for now, it's a start.

On the whole, it's a terrible group of episodes. But Dex's clear ISSUES made me think of Andros and his emo pouts, and I started thinking they'd be adorkable friends. And Kimberly obviously became a diplomat in Bright Skies because the rest of her team FAILS at it. And then I wondered how this episode might have gone if she was there.
Turns out, Masked Rider isn't on Netflix. (
arytra.livejournal.com and I raged about this for awhile, considering all the things that are.) It *is*, however, on YouTube. Kinda. There's one person whose been posting vids, but YouTube keeps taking them down again. ( OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW. )
It's adorable. It really is. If you ignore the other stuff and focus on Dex being innocent and sweet and his family being amazing, it's very cute. ♥
Clearly I require more research of this show.

My first thought was that it was very admirable of him to talk about this epiphany.
My second thought was the realization that this story doesn't just apply to women. It applies to *everyone* - male, female, transgender. There are thousands of people in the world we never talk to because of the judgements we make based on physical appearance.
It's the reason why I love the internet so much. It gives us a chance to know each other without boundaries; to see the *core* of who everyone is. I'm frequently surprised by pictures of internet friends, because I imagine you to look completely different.
When what really matters is that I know you at all.
