I've been on a Charmed kick again recently.
I blame Chris Perry/Halliwell. He's too damn pretty and full of angst. It makes me want to hurt people for him.
Somehow during all this reading of Chris fanfiction and browsing vids* and pictures, I had the sudden thought of Chris and Chibi-Usa from Sailormoon bonding over timetravel and meeting younger versions of their mothers who initially hate them. (I'm actually a little surprised I'd never made the connection before. o.O) And now it's kind of my Head Canon.
And then I started pondering how they could have met, and trying to remember what year Chris is supposed to be from. Which turned into the idea of Chibi-Usa being part of the resistance against EvilWyatt. Then I pondered other characters I love who are supposed to exist in the future and could have known Chris.
Now I'm picturing a post-apocalyptic resistance run by Chris Halliwell, Usagi Chiba, Alan Tracy, Lucas Wolenczak, Ben Braeden, Harry Potter's kids, and B Squad from Power Rangers SPD.
Run. Run now.
And for the love of fandom, DON'T encourage me. x.x
* I found this vid earlier today. It's everything about Supernatural that made me fall in love with it.
And to be honest, all the things I miss. -Glares at show-

... Huh. I hadn't thought of the Time Force/Crystal Tokyo connection.
Damn. And there goes another bunny ...Lucas Wolenczak is probably the reason I have a 'type' when it comes to favorite characters. I adored him from episode one. He was loads of ridiculously adorable and funny and smart. And he had a TALKING DOLPHIN. ♥
I do know this! In fact, I remember learning in one episode that Commander Ford was born in 1994 and giggling because I was older then him. Although I thought seaQuest started in 2020? 'Cause I know season three was in 2032, and that was supposed to be ten years into their future. Did they ever actually give a specific date? I tried looking it up, but I couldn't seem to find one. >.<
I have actually been number and age-crunching to plot if any of this would even be possible. (I'm going off the rough guess that Chris was born in 2004 and was twenty-one when he went back in time, so he probably came from about 2034-2035. I don't think he ever gave a specific year either, though.) Surprisingly, that puts everyone in their late 20's to early 50's, with Chris as the youngest at 21. The only person that I'd have to fudge an age for is Chibi-Usa, since she's not actually supposed to be born until the thirtieth century.
.... And I am putting *way* too much thought into a Crossover I'm supposedly not writing. -_-;;;;
*ETA And I just realized that I've been using the wrong year. Chris would be 21 in 2025. -Is a dork- But either way, he's actually only two years younger than Lucas. ... Which means it's even easier to make it work. DAMN IT. x.x

There's some giant, glaring problems with dates in SQ; Jonathan was born in 1988, I think, actually, because he was supposed to have graduated in 2010, but there's no way in hell he would have made commander in less than 10 years, even if he was super high speed. And then Tim stays a LT JG for FOREVER (which, in the real Navy, you'd get promoted after 2 years, which means he should have been promoted sometime in season 1 to full LT), and Lonnie and Miguel are all over the place with whether they're enlisted or officer. And then Katie and Ben apparently graduated a year after Jonathan, but their ranks are way off in comparison.
(If you really want, I can dig up all this information that my friend and I pulled together when working on our SQ fic that we really should update again... I know there's a lot of continuity issues between s1 and s2 in terms of timeline, and s3 screws things up even more, so...)
Time Force could totally take place in Crystal Tokyo future... And it's not like Chibi-Usa isn't a pro at time travel, so....
(I like crossovers... a lot.... so I'm totally going to encourage this one. Even if Chris was one of the reasons I stopped watching Charmed. Though really that started with Prue dying and it just got worse from there, so.)
And Lucas totally helped characterize my 'type' too. (And re: your icon, I'm sure Zhane does hate me; I do lots of mean, nasty things to him. Poor boy.)

Season 3 sucked all around. It had *so* much potential, it really did. Especially with all the angst! But it just ... didn't come through in the ways it should have. Which made me sad, because then the show died. -Sulks-
Now you're giving me thoughts of Alex knowing/having diplomatic relations with Neo-Queen Serenity. Or Jen, if I was going by A Darker Shade of Red, since she'd be the one in charge ...
... Crap.
YOU SUCK AND I HATE YOU.-Cries-I like crossovers too! Which is probably why I have so many of them in-progress. x.x
Really? o.O Chris was the reason I started really *watching* Charmed. I thought he was one of the best characters in the show, because he had such depth. And he changed a lot of my initial opinions on the girls. (Which ... could be more of a reason to dislike him, actually.)
Yes! Lucas was the best thing about seaQuest! ♥ I used to watch the show with my dad when I was a kid: him because it was Sci-Fi, and me because it had Lucas and he was funny. -Giggles- But he's probably the reason I adore characters like Justin Stewart and Alan Tracy and Chris Halliwell.
-Amused- Don't worry; you're one in a crowd. ZhaneTorture is almost as fun as AndrosTorture. Namely 'cause Zhane doesn't seem to expect it the way Andros does.

Chris was just part of the problem, in terms of me stopping with Charmed. I didn't like what they did with Leo's character, and I didn't like that they got rid of Cole, and then there were all sorts of weird things where the sisters faked their own deaths, blah blah blah. And then I just didn't have time for my TV shows any more, and then I went off to college and didn't have a TV (and then I wasn't allowed to watch TV one year), so yeah. Pretty much Chris's first episode was about where I stopped watching.
I loved Lucas as a kid, and Darwin, but having rewatched the show as an adult, I love Ben and Katie (I totally ship them) and Jonathan to itty bitty pieces, too. And Bridger and Westphalen (I ship them, too)! And pretty much everything about season 1. My mom was the sci-fi fan parent in my house; we used to watch SQ and TNG and reruns of TOS and whatnot. (I'm actually not a fan of Justin, but I had a massive crush on Wesley Crusher as a kid that I have thankfully outgrown.)
I'm not being all that much nicer to Andros.... It's generally pretty easy to tell who my favorite characters are; they're the ones who suffer the most. Whoopsie!

-Nods- I watched Charmed a bit in the beginning, but the longer it went on the more it confused me. Chris is the one thing about the show that still intruiges me really - namely because now that I'm older and writing, I can see all the potential angst involved with him. But I do remember it getting ... weird. And while I appreciate (and like!) that the characters grew and changed, it got to the point that they'd changed into completely different people.
I don't watch much TV anymore either, actually. Not much on that I care enough to see. >.O Although I do watch older series where and when I can find them, which is how I've gotten back into Charmed in the first place.
-Laughs- I know exactly what you mean! As a kid I identified with Lucas because he was the youngest, and the odd one out. But now that I'm older I'm finding love for the humor Miguel and Tim bring.
-Grins- For me it was watching seaQuest, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Saturday morning cartoons - namely Fantastic Four - with my dad. Sci-Fi and superheroes were pretty much the main thing we connected over. I liked Wesley too! For pretty much the same reasons as Lucas, actually. ^.^;;
I suffer from the same problem: the more I love a character, the more I torture them. (i.e. Justin, Trip, Chris, Alan Tracy ...) Or if I don't like them initially, I'll go back through the series to understand them, and *then* I start writing torture and fall in love with them. (i.e. Zhane, Wes, Alex)
... We're all a bit twisted, aren't we? -Grins wryly-

I think Riker instilled in me a love for XOs (and Jonathan; I love Jonathan so much), and Lucas and Wesley instilled in me a love for the teen geniuses and the kids who are just looking for good mentors (see also: Terry McGinnis, young Obi-Wan Kenobi). Tony DiNozzo hits both of those, really. Zhane sort of does, plus he's got the adorable blond thing going on.
At least we're not alone in our twistedness. It's a well documented fact on the internet that people tend to torture their favorites.
