A friend linked me this on Facebook today: Amazon’s Launching A Program To Sell Fanfic. Yeah, You Read That Right.

I'd like to be cautiously optimistic about it, but honestly my head keeps screaming 'Danger Will Robinson, Danger!' (I suspect my head is right.)

Also found this picture on DeviantArt, which totally made me think of Kevin. And now I'm imagining him training in freezing cold water on some mountain retreat because let's face it, he would so do that.

And for my last trick, I give you the last chapter of Promises. I FINALLY FINISHED SOMETHING! -Flails forever-

Promises (Power Rangers Samurai, Chapter 16: A Promise to Love You )
Author/: Tsukino Akume
Fandom/: Power Rangers Samurai
Characters/: Jayden Shiba, Antonio Garcia
Pairings/: pre-Antonio/Jayden
Rating/: K
Disclaimer/: If I owned them, it would not be subtext.
Summary/: Antonio made many promises to Jayden over the years. He never broken any of them. Bright Skies 'verse.
He sensed him before he saw him.

Yes, for the record, I'm already planning out a sequel to this. Still deciding exactly how my version of Samurai will end, but I've got some ideas. Either way, this particular story is *done*.

They've already said no porn, no crossovers, and as far as I can tell the rights situation is no good -

"We will also give the World Licensor a license to use your new elements and incorporate them into other works without further compensation to you.” and “Amazon Publishing will acquire all rights to your new stories, including global publication rights, for the term of copyright.”

AKA you come up with something really cool, and they can take it and you get nothing.

I don't think this will take off, at least not in a way that we super need to worry about, but fanfic is something I do for fun and for free, and I have no intention of ever paying for it/getting paid for it.

Amazon's definition of "porn" excludes 50 Shades of Gray, so from what I understand, it doesn't rule out explicit sex :)

The main problem I see with the selling fanfic is that it's going to make people think they are BNF's, for one, and also THEFT. Of other peoples fanfic claimed as their own because they can make money off of it now.

This is not going to go how they think it is going to go.
