And now it occurs to me ... *does* the PR fandom have a Hogwarts AU? o.O I know we've got Harry Potter crossovers, but ... I don't recall seeing one anywhere. Of if we do, it wasn't worth noting.

Anyone have one to share? Or suggestions for/desire to make one?

We don't have a lot of the typical AUs you see in other fandoms. But, well, when half the seasons already take place in high school, what's the point of having a high school AU? Or when they canonically get turned into kids, or canonical bodyswap, etc.

I can't quite figure out how to make a Hogwarts AU for PR...

I totally started a high school AU for Samurai!

But you're right, our fandom is weird. Which is one of the reasons I love it (and why I don't understand why we're not more popular.)

Hogwarts AU - 5 students there (one from each house and maybe an extra Gryffindor?) have to fight some ultimate evil. It could totally be done.

Well, the way you usually see it with Hogwarts AUs is that the normal characters end up at Hogwarts, as opposed to random Hogwarts students being the lead characters. Which, again, is just backwards. (It would be easy to make the Trio, Ginny, and Neville into Rangers, for example.)

Well, yes. But we just have to sort them into the houses - the mystic force team, for example, would map out fairly well.

I would also read the Trio, Ginny and Neville as Rangers, with Luna as the best sixth ever.

I dunno, none of them really seems like a Slytherin. Or a Ravenclaw really, for that matter. Rangers have a tendency to be hard-working, loyal, and brave. Which means that 3/4 of them would end up in Hufflepuff....

(Seriously, the only Ranger I can think of who is unarguably a Slytherin is Eric.)

I would agree that MOST Rangers would end up in either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, with a scattering of Ravenclaws. But taking Slytherin on the actual traits of ambition and cunning, you could easily throw in a lot of Rangers - Gia's defining trait if I remember the first episode correctly, was ambition.

I mean, Billy is way a hardcore Ravenclaw, no doubt about it. And whenever I do these mental House-sorting games, I *always* use the real traits, as spelled out by the first Sorting song. None of this "Hufflepuffs are useless" or "Slytherins are evil" crap.

But based on Gia as a character? I'm not sure she is actually as ambitious as we were told she was supposed to be. This is always the problem with being told a character is supposed to fit some trait, instead of being *shown*. We were never told Eric was ambitious, we were just shown the fact that he dropped out of high school in order to pursue his goals, that he went out of his way to get what he wanted for himself in life, etc. I'm not sure *which* house Gia would fit best in, but I'm not sure it's Slytherin.

Aw. Okay. (I somehow managed to avoid the crazier ends of HP fandom and only hung out in one little sandbox where people were nice and we pretty much only ever talked about one fic series, so...)

I have often thought of trying to make the Samurai rangers fit into the hogwarts world- but there's the problem with Mia and where to put her, as well as Mike may not be completely a slytherin.

I've also wanted to do an Avatar AU, but there are also problems- Kevin, Mia, Jayden and Emily have nations, but Mike and Antonio are like up the creek lol.

Other teams would probably be easier.
