A few days ago I discovered a fabulous Avengers fic called Not One of Blood, in which the Avengers are separated and attacked, and each is forced to run for their lives while trying to unite with the others. It's heart-wrenching and full of drama and sweetness and OMG moments.

More importantly, it has this adorable scene of Tony making breakfast for his tiny daughter while Steve goes out to get bagels. )

For obvious reasons, I have not been able to get the idea of chocolate chip scrambled eggs out of my head since.

Tonight, I decided to get ambitious and give them a try.

First of all, chocolate chip scrambled eggs are incredibly messy when you cook them. (Melting chocolate an' all.) Second, less is more when it comes to adding the chocolate, as I added so much to mine that I could barely tell when the eggs were all the way cooked. Third, they look disgusting, even more so after they're done.

For the curious, I scrambled mine in a bowl with milk and added chips, then put them in the pan to cook.
  • First bite: This is ... surprisingly not bad. I don't know what I expected, but it's decent.
  • A few bites later: Y'know, I kinda like it. It's tasty. And there's crispied chocolate in it.
  • After finishing: ... Crap, why did I only use one egg? I want more.

So yeah, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Personally, I may be having chocolate chip scrambled eggs for breakfast tomorrow. Possibly all the time. They're surprisingly addictive.
