Christmas is just a shitty time of year no matter where you work. At Nathan's job, they did team gingerbread house contests. When he tried to tell them he was allergic to ginger and couldn't participate, he just got a bunch of "Really? You aren't just saying that?" And he was like, want me to touch it and go into anaphylactic shock? I'll take the day off, but call the ambulance first."

So he got out of it, had to do work while everyone else got a break, and now they are displayed in the hallway leading to the cafeteria, which means he has to walk all the way around the building to go in the other entrance if he doesn't want to walk through a 20 foot long cloud of ginger dust and end up with hives all day.

At my job, we did a "kick off" party for the holiday season, and of course my team had to wrap all the presents they were going to hand out and had to put in a lot more effort to get the thing ready, and then it turns out the big bosses didn't think customer service needed to be invited to the thing. As in, we weren't allowed to go. So we threw a fit, and they immediately backtracked, but at the thing, the boss refused to acknowledge us for everyone to give applause to. He gave a shout out to literally every other department in the store, but not us.

So yeah, this is shitty and the holidays are awful, and being an atheist I would have contacted an atheist legal organization to make contact with the company on my behalf so I could remain anonymous and then policy would change without me being in a position to receive retaliation... so you could do that? If there aren't pagan organizations that do that, shit pretend to be an atheist and write the Apiignani Humanist Legal Center http://humanistlegalcenter.org/ and ask someone to write a letter about religious discrimination in the workplace.

It may not solve it but it might make you feel better? I love you I'm sorry your coworkers are shitty.
